Amelia holds a BA in History and Political Science from the University of Washington and a Master’s in Education from the University of Utah. She is licensed to teach secondary social studies and has also earned a graduate certificate in Working with Native Communities. Amelia has experience teaching middle school students and supporting multilingual learners, and she is committed to creating a classroom where all students feel valued, challenged, and connected to their learning.

Before becoming a teacher, Amelia worked in Yellowstone National Park and in educational research, experiences that shaped her passion for place-based, culturally sustaining education. She believes deeply in the power of strong relationships and school-family partnerships to support students in the classroom.

Originally from Texas (and a few other places), Amelia now calls Salt Lake City home. She enjoys backpacking, crafting, cooking big meals with friends, and spending time outdoors.
