Gardening and Food Production Club

Goals of Utah International Gardening Club:
– Learn about plants that thrive in Utah, basics of gardening like soil types, how to use fertilizer and proper irrigation
– Serve the school community by creating a school garden and by coming up with ways to beautify the school with seasonal garden decoations.
– Develop leadership skills by researching and proposing ideas, presenting their ideas to administration for approval
– Connect with nature.
– Grow herbs inside the school during winter

Nutrition education is an important part of our vision for the school garden program. We are intentionally building connections between gardening, cultural food traditions, and healthy eating habits. Students are already engaging directly with the food they grow by selecting culturally relevant fruits and vegetables, caring for them throughout the season, and using the harvest to prepare and share meals during school events.

There is no club work to display at this time. Please check back later.
